Why would you only want to hear from people that agree with you? I'm sorry, but when you post such a bold political statement, disagreement is inevitable.
:iconthezea:
Because I see so many damn Bush/Cheney crap around here that I start to feel.. I dunno.. Alone in my beliefs. Even though most of my friends and all of my family are anti-Bush/Cheney. I just want to know if more people out there agree with me.

Disagreement is also only inevitable when assholes like yourself make a big deal out of it. I clearly stated I just wanted to know who agrees with me and if people disobey that they are just wasting their time. I did not post this to try and change peoples minds, more to give the liberals out there a laugh. And it would do you well to understand that people arguing over the internet just polarizes our nation more and makes people angry. Do you actually think any Bushites will change their mind if they see this? No, they won't. They've got their eyes closed and their ears plugged and don't give a shit about the rest of the world; one reason why they support Bush. And do you think liberals are going to change their political views when they see that shitty bumper sticker I saw earlier today "Liberal women are mean and get angry over trivial things". Shit no, we aren't. We just get annoyed by it.

I shall repeat, I DO NOT want political arguments over this. It was made just to give people who agree with me a laugh. If I'd intended to change people's minds I would have had them click on that Retro vs Metro link that you see in the banner at the top of this link. (I don't think they'd laugh at that picture.) This was not intended to start an argument, it was just to make DA liberals feel less alone.

Well, no offense, but when almost half the country shares political beliefs similar to your own, I don't think you need to do much to make liberals feel less alone.

"Disagreement is also only inevitable when assholes like yourself make a big deal out of it."

Actually, the purpose of my post was fairly simple in that any poster of a political statement should expect scrutiny by those who disagree. You mention the purpose was simply to make liberals laugh, but I don't see anything funny in replacing the names of the those who fill highest offices in America with two corporations currently under federal investigation - if anything, the message that comes across is a caution to voters by calling supposed corporate scandals of the President and Vice President into scrutiny, especially considering that the substrate resembles a campaign sticker - a means to send messages to the voting populace.

"And it would do you well to understand that people arguing over the internet just polarizes our nation more and makes people angry."

Debating never hurt anybody - In fact, one usually finds more rational reasons with which to defend their beliefs, or ends up changing them when the reasons of others have more rational justification. Debating is a process that leads toward a goal of further understanding when both parties involved are open to potentially subverting their beliefs by the words of others. So, if debating supposedly causes anger in society, it isn't the fault of debating, it is the fault of people unwilling to yield their beliefs in a situation in which they might indeed be proven faulty. Rather, calling people like myself "assholes" are statements that would more efectively polarize the nation and/or make people angry.

Over the internet, yes, I do feel alone. The only people I've seen that have posted their politcal veiws on DA have been republican. I do find it funny to replace the names of two people who, however high of an office they may hold, have caused thousands of deaths and are repeatedly saying "All is well" when there is evidence everywhere that, well, all is most certainly not well. I find it funny do replace the names of two people who believe women should have no choice over what happens to them, say, if they're raped. Who believe that our country should be a dictatorship, that people should be uninformed, and we should conquer the world instead of becoming a global society and learning to work together peacfully. Who, instead of increasing funding for schools where students can't be taught enough, would rather cut the funding for educational facilities if children couldn't read at a certain level because they were deprived of the resources needed to do so. Who are prejudice against Arabs and Arab-Americans (which includes one of my best friends, .) Who give money to large corporations so that the people of the "Free World" are uninformed and mislead to believe, as I stated above, "all is well" and we are slowly but surely accomplishing our mission of world domination. Yes.. I do find this picture funny.

I am sorry for using the word "asshole." It was not the correct term to use if I wanted to argue my side peacefully and without causing more disunion in our country. However, when it is clearly stated that this picture is not open for political discussion and is just here to make people laugh, I find it quite.. how shall I put this.. asshole-ish.. to say "Why would you only want to hear from people that agree with you? I'm sorry, but when you post such a bold political statement, disagreement is inevitable." when it is clearly stated "*Note: I want to know who AGREES with me. NOT what your political views are. If you dont agree just keep your muzzle closed or take your yapping elsewhere. =3 Thanks." I stand by what I said, that it is only inevitable when people like yourself start arguing over it. Debating may change swingvoters' opinions, but what you said will not change mine, so I see no purpose for it. As I stated, this was not to change people's political views, more to give others a laugh.

Is it so hard for people to follow directions? Jeez...
